Project:Self is a research project focusing on the self and society. Society and the self, happen to be correlative components within our identity, and identity is a subject which by its very nature is elusive and ambivalent. Being ourselves cannot happen without being a part of a society, a unit which allows experience to taken place. And for a greater unit to function, all its smaller components seem to have a specific function. The artwork, using old and new photographs delves into this notion of identity, where the self is never the self-detached from the realities surrounding us. This work was exhibited in a collective exhibition called Strati, at Auberge de France in Birgu, Malta.
