“In Memory of…” presents stitched stories of past and present conversations with the intimate experiences at the artist’s Guesthouse in Gozo; a blend of lived, imagined, and blurred stories of a life in Qala. This mixed media drawing attempts to interpret a glimpse of what was, what is, and what will never change. The physical presence of the guesthouse saw too many stories and lived through too many lives to even matter after twenty years of its doors being closed to people. In a way, this work resolves the recollection of fragmented memories through layers between the past and hopeful future; until the sign FOR SALE stuck on the door, barely visible, is finally removed for new stories to be written and told. This work was exhibited in a Contemporary Art Collective, Alternative Perspectives as part of a project called Identity of an Island, Gozo: Art between Past and Present. https://www.identityofanisland.com/
